Hop pellets have become indispensable in the modern brewing world. Compact, concentrated hop pellets are now the standard in both large breweries and with the home brewer, thanks to their many advantages. BreatHing has years of expertise in processing hops into pellets and has realized dozens of projects in Europe and beyond, take a look at our photo album.
Using hop pellets instead of whole hop cones offers many advantages, such as a longer shelf life, higher concentration, uniform quality, efficient transport and storage, easy dosing, and less oxidation due to the dense structure.
Preserving hop aroma is one of the biggest challenges when processing hops. Our presses are therefore equipped with special dies that keep the temperature low to prevent the evaporation of volatile oils and to ensure maximum aroma retention. The special hammer mill for the pre-processing of the hop cones
The dried hops are ground into a fine, homogeneous powder. The particle size must be consistent for good binding in the press. BreatHing uses their specially designed low-impact hammer mill for minimal temperature rise, preservation of lupulin glands, no burnt aromas, and a gentle, fiber-friendly grinding.
When the produced hop pellets leave the press, they are sieved, and the broken pellets and dust particles can be reprocessed. In the cooling unit, the hop pellets are cooled and stabilized for packaging.
